In Brief

For over 25 years, I’ve been aware that transformation and leadership includes the mind but depends on connecting with the body and the energy that lives inside. Throughout, I’ve offered energy healing and somatic practices as a guide, mentor, facilitator, ceremonialist and author. Today, I teach individuals and groups to follow energy as a way to embody their unique creative potential so they can level up in work, life and leadership.  I offer a free, comprehensive introduction to anyone interested in learning the process of Following Energy here.

As a founder of a 21-year-old dance ceremony called 7Directions®️ and Following Energy™️ based on my book, I’ve designed, produced and led countless evenings, ongoing women’s circles, weekend retreats, leadership programs and facilitator trainings in-person and globally online.

Currently, I host a podcast, see private clients, hold women’s dance ceremony online and mentor change makers with following energy.

My root intention is to support human responsibility and collective transformation so people can embody the capacity, love, resilience and empowerment they need to become leaders in their lives.

Training, Experience, Focus and Evolution

I’m a guide, facilitator, teacher, ceremonialist and author of Turning Dead Ends into Doorways. I rely on energy healing and somatic practices alongside practical wisdom to support individuals, couples and groups with embodying empowerment, transformation and leadership.

My commitment to empowered transformation emphasizes teaching people how to follow energy inside their body and daily life to make wiser decisions, enjoy connected relationships and create great work.

For over 25 years, I’ve been combining meaningful conversation with paradigm shifting tools and somatic energy practices to support human responsibility and collective transformation so people can embody the capacity, love, resilience and empowerment they need to become leaders in their lives..

Throughout, I hold a loving attuned space so you can expand your capacity and relocate your power inside:

  • Individual sessions include guided imagery and somatic practices to address anxiety, work and relationship issues.

  • Couple’s sessions emphasize making room for two by shifting codependency into trustworthy connection.

  • Group facilitation combines personal sharing with non-ordinary states energy practices like guided imagery, breathwork and dance ceremony to clean house and catapult potential.

I’m a certified birth Doula and Maitri Breathwork Facilitator with a Master’s in Philosophy and Religion emphasizing Women's Spirituality from the California Institute of Integral Studies (CIIS). I’ve completed over 10 years of non-ordinary states of consciousness and sacred container training through apprenticeship and the Center for Sacred Studies.

As a founder and lead facilitator of 7Directions®, a 21-year-old Earth-based dance ceremony, and Following Energy based on my book, I’ve produced and facilitated countless transformational evenings, ongoing women's circles, and weekend retreats.

Since 2010, I’ve been particularly devoted to Women’s 7Directions, a two session five-month dance ceremony circle held from September – January and February - June.

Over the years, being in service to the people and healing lines I love has meant cultivating community as a group leader, program designer and producer.

For more than a decade, I’ve found myself teaching and mentoring future leaders through facilitator training programs:

  • I was on staff of the Maitri Breathwork Facilitator Training Program through the Center for Sacred Studies from 2008 - 2014.

  • In 2016, I designed, taught and held a two-year 7Directions Facilitator Training.

  • In 2022, based on a virtual form of 7Directions emerging from the pandemic, I designed, taught, led and completed a virtual 7Directions Facilitator Training.

  • In February of 2022, I completed a 10-month Somatic Energy Guide Training for healing practitioners (coaches, intuitives) who want to teach following energy based on my book, Turning Dead Ends into Doorways.

Along the way in 2019, I was invited to become a coach for Akimbo, an online learning community for work and leadership development founded by Seth Godin. In particular, I’ve coached many sessions of The Marketing Seminar and The Freelancer’s Workshop.

In 2023, I’m excited to continue teaching and mentoring change makers to embody creative power and paradigm shifting leadership through Following Energy for Change Makers and Somatic Energy Guide Training for Turning Dead Ends into Doorways.

My story: Change begins with letting go

Over 25 years ago, I sat with my dear friend at a café. That year, we’d become sister survivors over our mutual hatred for law school while studying all the time. Well, actually, I skimmed textbooks so I could attend authentic movement and Wiccan classes at night (the stuff that really inspired me).

Even though I’d spent the summer in a heap on the floor sobbing over a final D in Contracts. Even though an inner voice constantly snarled, “See what happens when you don’t listen to your heart? Now you have to stay put and prove everyone wrong.” Even though I didn’t want to abandon my friend.

Sometimes defining moments arrive as a whisper.

Between sips of coffee, I noticed the air shifting around us. Next, an inner vision flashed. Where before we’d been on the same path, I suddenly saw myself turning right. Catching the drift, my friend said, “You’re leaving law school.” I looked at her deeply with tears in my eyes, and nodded. To free myself, I needed to let go.

The next day, after memorizing a visualization to meet a spiritual teacher from a book, I closed my eyes and found myself sitting across from the most beautiful old woman I’d ever seen. She smiled and said, “Congratulations, you’re here. You made the right decision to leave law school. Now it’s time to get to work.”

Daily life as a spiritual training ground

During the next ten years, as if in tacit agreement, daily life schooled me. As I grew a family and studied Earth-based and feminine wisdom ways:

  • A healing apprenticeship taught me to support people, follow energy and create sacred space.

  • I practiced surrender through birthing two children.

  • My intuition developed into somatic energy healing work and guided imagery with clients.

  • Mothering showed me how to find a balance between service and sacrifice.

  • Dance ceremony became an essential spiritual practice.

  • I realized ingredients for a happy marriage included laughter, respect, communication and the ability to take turns losing our shit;).

Fast-forward in time and daily life has continued to be my greatest spiritual teacher.

In 2011 our teenage daughter survived a form of adolescent cancer. She was diagnosed days after I began writing about surrender, the last chapter in my book about how to let go and follow energy. What I learned from writing Turning Dead Ends into Doorways carried me through my daughter’s healing journey. Thankfully, 12 years later, she remains cancer free.

When you let go and follow something essential in your life, it grows you up and loves you back in unexpected faith-restoring ways. I am so grateful.

I’m a mama-bear somatic guide and energy teacher

In order to really let go and follow something meaningful, something bigger than our little selves, we need to become whole enough to get out of the way. From there, we can form intentional or sacred relationships to follow.

Over the years, walking my talk has meant committing to embodying many sacred relationships, including some essential archetypes for my life and healing work:

  • Guide for navigating life

  • Spiritual midwife

  • Ceremonialist

  • Somatic guide

  • Energy teacher

  • Bad ass heartfelt embodied leader

These archetypes often come together as a big dose of Mama Bear: mama-bear love, mama-bear practicality, mama-bear fierceness, mama-bear wisdom, mama-bear power…mama-bear healing.

I embrace my mama-bear with my people because when someone grants me entrance into their lives, when someone opens to receive me, to really lean in, to let me hold them, I show up. Period.

  • "Staci Boden is a spiritual midwife, holding you in her arms as you deliver yourself from the pain of the past. I will give you this warning: Do not step into this process with Staci unless you are truly prepared to awaken that which has been sleeping, deep inside of you, for far too long."

    Gwen B.

    Lindsay J.

  • "I am forever grateful to Staci and her beautiful book, which came into my life at a time when I was spinning in circles. Nothing compares to the loving container she upholds, the deep energy work and her mama bear presence. Thank you Staci for the ongoing space holding and guidance as I step into my heart work. Much love!"

    Sam L.

  • "I'm in Michigan, so Staci and I work via Skype but she may as well be sitting right next to me. If I'm visualizing sitting by the sea, she will, in that exact moment, mention the sea. If an animal friend or spirit guide shows up for me, Staci knows it immediately. She can detect the precise sensations in my body and intuit how to work that energy. It's uncanny. I may never understand how she does this, but I'm just so grateful for her deep, powerful work."
